Beautiful Janet: I must say I’m a tad envious. Thanks for sharing such lovliness!

Thanks, Nancy – it is another “right place, right time” photo. I was walking in my neighborhood with the camera, and the light hit the camellia bush just right to get a good shot of their incredible color.

Beautiful blossom, but you have presented layers of delicate in the various shades of pink as well, Janet. Lovely. Absolutely lovely.

Thank you, Cheryl. The camellias are one of the joys of winter here. The ground will be carpeted in pink petals as the flowers drop. Not quite as wonderful as snow, but still lovely.

Thank you, Matti. The camellias bloom from November through February, unless we have a hard freeze. They really brighten up our gray winter days.

Alas, no. These are in a yard around the corner from me. I have some white camellia sasanquas, but they do not photograph as beautifully as these pink ones.
