Thanks for your comments on all three of my photos. I think what we call eggplant in the States is called aubergine in Europe. It requires a long, miserably hot growing season. It’s one of the few benefits, along with tomatoes, of our horrid summers.

I have never seen this particular blossom before. To think, this delicate, pale little thing gives way to such a hardy vegetable.
